Colour and highlights

Before choosing a tone we look at the base: how dark it is, how porous, whether there is previous colour behaving differently along the length. Two people with the same idea in mind can need two different routes.

We work with different techniques depending on what is needed: foils for a more defined result, balayage for something that grows out without a hard line, a toner when the lift is already right and only the tone needs correcting.

That is why the price is agreed in the salon rather than shown here: it depends on your starting point, the length, and how many steps are needed. The consultation is free and commits you to nothing.

Questions

What people ask

What is the difference between balayage and foils?
Foils lift the hair from the root, section by section, wrapped in foil: the result is more uniform and defined. Balayage is painted freehand starting further down, so the regrowth does not leave a hard line. Neither is better - it depends on the effect you want and how often you want to come back.
Can I get highlights on dark brown hair?
Yes, and it is one of the cases where they show best, because the contrast is visible. The question is how far to lift: on a dark base, pushing too far in one go stresses the hair and brings out orange tones. Often it is better to get there over more than one appointment.
How much does colour cost?
It depends on your starting point, the length, and how many steps are needed. A root touch-up on established colour and a full lightening on long hair are not the same job. That is why we look first and quote after. The consultation is free.
Will I be able to explain what I want in English?
Yes. Chelsea speaks English as a first language. For colour that matters more than it sounds: the difference between "warm" and "brassy" is exactly the kind of thing that gets lost.
